Police Log: Downed Wire Catches Fire on Camp Street

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Friday, July 4

At 11:53 a.m., police received a report of wires down on South Main Street. Verizon was notified. 

At 2:45 p.m. and again at 3:19 p.m., a caller reported loud music coming from a residence on Cedar Street.

At 5:09 p.m., a caller requested officers respond to a vehicle parked on the sidewalk on Congress Street. Officers determined that the vehicle was parked legally in a driveway. 

At 5:30 p.m., a caller reported wires down on Camp Street, with one line reportedly on fire. National Grid was contacted; the wire was no longer on fire upon arrival. One pole was leaning against a tree.

At 7:05 p.m., a caller reported his neighbor was shooting off fireworks on Water Street. 

At 9:03 p.m., a caller reported people lighting off fireworks on Fruit Street. Officers responded and found no fireworks activity in the area. 

At 9:24 p.m., a caller reported he was delivering food and was bitten by a dog at a residence on Annie J. Circle. 

At 9:27 p.m., a caller reported that someone kept knocking on her door and was refusing to identify themselves. The suspect in question was gone on arrival. 

At 10:26 p.m., officers pulled a vehicle over in the area of Purchase and Fountain streets. Officers issued a summons to Jose Teotonio, 45, of Framingham, for failure to stop/yield and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

At 11 p.m., police received a report of a "heavily intoxicated" male in the drive-thru at McDonald's on South Main Street. The driver was gone upon arrival. 

At 11:15 p.m., a caller reported a group of people were lighting fireworks in front of a home on Forest Street.
