Police Log: Domestic Assault, Unattended Children

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Sept. 25

3:16 p.m.: A caller reported several vehicles were running the stop sign on Spring at Court streets, at all hours, but mainly around 7 a.m., midday and early evening. A sergeant was notified.

5:28 p.m.: A caller told police two men were walking out of the yard of a house on East Main Street that appeared abandoned. An officer arrived, and spoke to a neighbor, and determined the house was occupied.

6:10 p.m.: A woman at the police station said her ex-husband was supposed to drop off their daughter at 6 p.m. and he showed up at 6:12 p.m. She asked for a log entry.

8:15 p.m.: An employee of Bugaboo Creek Steak House said a vehicle had been parked between the steak house and the Dollar Tree store for several weeks, and has not moved. Police checked and the vehicle was registered to the Dollar Tree. The caller was notified.

8:33 p.m.: A woman reported her neighbor's car windows had just been smashed on Lee Street. She did not see anyone, just heard the noise.

8:36 p.m.: A woman reported she had just gotten into a physical fight with a man. She said her hands and arms were closed in a window. Police arrested Dana Michael Berger, 33, of 55 Pine Island Rd., Milford, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

9:49 p.m.: Police received a noise complaint from Howard Street. A caller said a party was taking place at a residence that should be vacant. A "For Sale" sign is in the front yard. An officer spoke to the occupants.

Wednesday, Sept. 26

1:13 a.m.: State Police said a woman from Milford had reported an argument between her and her boyfriend. The woman then called back and said she was sorry she called, and refused to cooperate and said she didn't need police services. The woman said she was going to her parents' home in Natick. Natick police were contacted and asked to perform a well-being check.

9:25 a.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters to speak to an officer about his vehicle being stolen and then recovered.

10:14 a.m.: A male shoplifter was reportedly detained by Kohl's security for attempting to take DVDs. Police arrested Matthew S. Aron, 24, of 46 Theresa Rd., Hopkinton, on a warrant, and on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, third offense.

10:38 a.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and asked to speak to an officer about missing crosswalks on Main Street, at Main and South Bow and at Main and Franklin streets.

12:26 p.m.: Milford Regional Medical Center staff reported a 28-year-old woman was being treated for a stab wound to the abdomen. She stated it happened in Webster, where she "fell on a knife." An officer was sent to Uxbridge Police to speak to them.

12:51 p.m.: A woman reported three young boys were unattended and walking near the picnic area of the Portuguese Club property. Police determined the boys lived at an address on Prospect Heights. An officer was en-route to speak to the parents.

2:27 p.m.: An officer reported he was almost hit by a commercial truck who struck some construction cones near Tedeschi, on Main Street, and then refused to stop. Another officer stopped the vehicle and sent the driver back to speak to the first officer. A citation was issued.
