Police Log: Disturbances, Tree Branch Knocks out Power

The following information was supplied by the Milford police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, June 13

5:02 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Walnut Street, near , police were seeking a summons to charge Wander Azevedo, 42, of 3 Capitol Rd., Milford, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and blocking an intersection.

5:06 p.m.: A caller said he came outside from and found his mirror on his vehicle had been struck by a car that did not stop.

5:42 p.m.: A caller reported vandalism on Jenn-Paul Way: he "found something written" on his back porch.

5:52 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported on Grove at Forest streets. No one was injured.

5:54 p.m.: A caller said a man was hitting his 14-year-old daughter. Police responded, but no arrests were reported.

6:04 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Central at South Bow streets, police arrested Tiago Ricardo DaSilva, 24, of 146 Beaver St., Milford, on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and number plate violation. Police are seeking a summons to charge Huyrian Alves Marcelino, 34, of 1450 Worcester Rd., Apt. 8109, Framingham, with allowing improper operation of a motor vehicle.

6:06 p.m.: A caller on Gibbon Avenue told police young boys were "kicking soccer balls" at her fence. This has been an ongoing issue.

10:54 p.m.: Police responded to a noise complaint on Senate Road, but were unable to locate the noise.

11:07 p.m.: Police returned to Senate Road, where the caller reported that "once the cops left, screaming started again." Police checked and everything seemed OK.

Thursday, June 14

12:53 a.m.: A disturbance was reported on Silva Street involving two to three youths. Police could not locate them.

1:13 a.m.: A caller reported his 21-year-old son and his friend were trying to drive his car, and the son did not have a license. They took off on foot. Police spoke to the young men, after they were located near

6:03 a.m.: A tree branch was reported down on power lines, and smoking, at the Hopedale line on West Street. Firefighters responded, and National Grid was notified. This knocked out power to 2,700 homes in Milford and Upton until about 7 a.m.

1:19 p.m.: A caller reported a two-car crash near on Prospect Street. No injury was reported.
