Police Log: Distraught Woman Found, Multiple Vehicle Break-ins

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Oct. 30

1:14 p.m.: Wires were reported down on Madden Avenue at Washington Street.

1:45 p.m.: A caller on Genoa Avenue reported his car had been broken into sometime the previous night.

2:05 p.m.: Police responded to Main at Jefferson streets for a report of two youths who "shot off something." An officer patted them down and determined it was fireworks.

6:20 p.m.: Water was reported to be getting high on Godfrey Lane.

6:21 p.m.: Flooding was reported on Main at Green streets.

6:23 p.m.: Flooding was reported at West and High streets.

6:24 p.m.: Flooding was reported on Jillson Circle.

6:28 p.m.: where a caller said a pole was on fire, in the road. Police shut down the road due to a live wire in the road. National Grid was notified.

7:00 p.m.: A caller reported flooding on Purchase Street.

7:12 p.m.: A caller reported flooding on Main Street, near Dunkin Donuts.

7:12 p.m.: A caller reported flooding on South Bow at Central streets.

7:12 p.m.: A caller reported flooding in the area of Main Street.

9:00 p.m.: A 20-year-old woman reportedly fell at KFC and hurt her leg.

9:04 p.m.: Police responded to Pheasant Circle, then Vernon Grove Cemetery, to search for a distraught woman whose friend said had been making depressed statements. After a lengthy search, including the use of police dogs, the woman was found in thick brush, police reported. She was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.

Wednesday, Oct. 31

5:33 a.m.: A caller on Walker Avenue said his car had been broken into with no visible damage. The caller said he would take a closer look during the daylight hours and call back if he needed more assistance.

5:45 a.m.: A caller on Kellett Drive reported his car had been broken into overnight. Multiple vehicles on Kellet Drive also were reported broken into, once the officer responded.

6:20 a.m.: A caller on Purchase Street reported his vehicle and his wife's vehicle was broken into overnight, and minor things taken.

7:18 a.m.: A caller on West Walnut Street reported his car was broken into and things taken from the glove box.

8:14 a.m.: A caller on Hayward Street said her car was entered overnight and things were on the floor. She said her doors were not locked.

8:20 a.m.: A caller on Hale Avenue said his vehicle was broken into overnight.

8:20 a.m.: A caller on East Street Extension said her vehicle was rummaged through in the night. Loose change was stolen.

9:56 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop at the police arrested Richard J. Roberge, 29, of 24 Medway Rd., Norfolk, on the following charges: possession of heroin, being present where heroin is kept, two counts of possession of a Class B substance, conspiracy to violate the drug laws, possesion to distribute a Class A substance. Police also arrested Sarah E. Mandell, 20, of 40 Jefferson St., Apt. 5, Milford, on charges of conspiracy to violate the drug laws, being present where heroin is kept and a warrant.

10:41 a.m.: Wires were reported down on East Main Street.

11:13 a.m.: Wires were reported down on Water at Bancroft Avenue.

12:38 p.m.: A caller on Hayward Street reported her vehicle was broken into overnight. Nothing was taken, but he asked for it to be logged.

1:52 p.m.: A caller on Hayward Street said her car was rummaged through the previous night. She said a very small amount of change was taken.

1:57 p.m.: A caller reported her vehicle was broken into. The car was unlocked.

2:39 p.m.: Wires were reported down on Senate Road.

3:37 p.m.: A caller on South Terrace said his car was broken into.
