Police Log: Defiant 14-year-old, 'Gypsy' Paving Company

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, July 28

5:51 p.m.: A mother asked police to help her with a defiant, 14-year-old daughter. The girl was not allowed to leave the house, but was attempting to do so. Police responded and requested an ambulance for an evaluation at Milford Regional Medical Center.

5:56 p.m.: A woman told police her 20-year-old nephew had disappeared from Milford Care and Rehabilitation. He has autism and can speak, she said. Police responded but the caller called back to say her nephew had been found.

7:05 p.m.: A caller said a skateboarder was riding down Congress Street, and grabbing on to the bumper of a Nissan. Police could not locate the driver.

8:03 p.m.: A caller flagged down an officer and reported a car in the Shaw's parking lot was suspicious. The officer found the man was yelling in the lot to someone who he knew.

11:15 p.m.: A caller said a group of people was talking loudly in the parking lot near the entrance, on Birmingham Court. Police found several people were trying to jump-start a car. They were leaving the area.

Monday, July 29

9:34 a.m.: A woman said she had not seen or heard from a friend since the previous week, and asked to speak to an officer. A civilian employee checked and reported her friend had been committed to a mental health treatment facility, and was OK.

10:33 a.m.: A caller on Congress Street reported vandalism to her car.

10:59 a.m.: An employee of Riverside Community Care reported threats.

11:23 a.m.: Following a two-car crash at Highland Street, police were seeking a summons to charge Jean Pierre, 41, of 81 Colonel Bell Dr., Apt. 5, Brockton, with operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked as a habitual traffic offender.

11:49 a.m.: An officer investigated suspicious activity on East Main Street. The detective reported a man had clenched fists for about five minutes after seeing police, and was acting suspiciously. Police spoke to him.

1:18 p.m.: A caller reported kids were on the roof of the dugouts at Milford Town Park.

1:40 p.m.: A caller said his 15-year-old son is being harassed by other kids on a website, and threats were made.

1:48 p.m.: A caller reported a woman with two small children had them urinate in the middle of the Hannaford Supermarket parking lot. Police spoke to the woman.

1:57 p.m.: An officer received a complaint about a gypsy paving company in the area of Overlook Circle. Police responded and spoke with state inspectors. State inspectional services issued the company fines. An officer said they had been advised to obtain a solicitor license.

2:29 p.m.: A man reported vandalism to his vehicle.

3:35 p.m.: A man reported his car was vandalized overnight on Spruce Street.
