Police Log: Dead Cat Found, Man Summonsed After Car Crash on E. Main Street

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Sunday, Feb. 2

At 1:32 a.m., Milford police responded to East Main Street after the Massachusetts State Police informed them of a report from a male party who claimed two vehicles were off to the side of the road near the Milford-Holliston line. Upon arrival to the scene, police placed two Holliston men into protective custody and summonsed a Weymouth man for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in property damage, speeding in violation of special regulation, a marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. 

At 8:34 a.m., police responded to the Middle School East on Main Street after receiving a report of what appeared to be a dead cat in a bag on the sidewalk in the area. The Milford animal control officer was notified and sent to the scene.

At 10:17 a.m., police responded to Shaw's Supermarket on Prospect Street after receiving a report of a female in a vehicle there allegedly trying to sell dogs. 

At 2:59 p.m., police responded to Target after receiving a report of a shoplifter at the store. Upon arrival, police determined that a male party had been allegedly trying to take baby formula from the store, and charged Rudy Arenas of Woonsocket, Rhode Island for shoplifting of more than $100 worth of items by concealing merchandise.
