Police Log: Crash on Fortune Boulevard, Detour on Purchase Street

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Jan. 3

8:53 p.m.: Three people were sent to Milford Regional Medical Center, following a two-car crash on Fortune Boulevard. One of the vehicles struck a utility pole, resulting in a road closure.

11:43 p.m.: A man reported an argument between a woman and her son. Police responded and found it was an argument between a man and his girlfriend. A report was filed.

Saturday, Jan. 4

12:11 a.m.: A woman reported a domestic between a boyfriend and a girlfriend, with two small children in the house. Police responded and arrested Ryan M. Nelson, 33, of 145 W. Spruce St., Apt. 1, Milford, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

2:07 a.m.: A caller reported his phone was stolen about an hour before at PiNZ.

2:57 a.m.: A caller said she saw two men and a woman arguing on South Main Street. An officer responded and found it was two men who had been talking loudly, and the woman came out to find out what was going on.

12:32 p.m.: A caller reported a pipe had burst near the Milford transfer station on Cedar Street. Water was flooding the driveway and about to cross Cedar Street. The Milford Water Department was contacted.

1:22 p.m.: A multi-car crash was reported by six callers on Fortune Boulevard, near Ira Toyota. No injuries were involved.

3:55 p.m.: A caller on Water Street said his downstairs neighbor was yelling threats at him.

5:36 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and said her phone was stolen. The GPS was showing it was now in Upton.

6:26 p.m.: Several callers reported a crash at Cape Road and Green Street. Tow trucks were required for all three vehicles, but no one was injured.

6:38 p.m.: A dog was hit by a car on East Street. The animal control officer was contacted.

6:50 p.m.: Water was reported to be flowing out of the windows on a three-family house on Main Street. Firefighters responded. The Milford Building Commission also responded, as did the wiring inspector. Firefighters shut down the power to the building and the building owner agreed to place the residents in hotels.

7:57 p.m.: An officer pulled over a car on Water Street. Police arrested Juan Maria Caguana, 21, of 303 Spring St., Apt. 3, Brockton, on charges of a marked lanes violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

9:18 p.m.: A woman reported her son was away from town and she noticed a light flashing in his house. Police checked and everything was secure.

Sunday, Jan. 5

2:12 a.m.: A single-car crash was reported Windsor Road and Purchase Street. The crash snapped a utility pole. National Grid asked that the car not be moved. Police detoured traffic off Purchase Street.

11:13 a.m.: A caller reported an employee at Village Laundromat would not give back his camera.
