Police Log: Crash Involving Plow, Vehicle at McDonald's 'Smells Funny'

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Dec. 25

9:44 a.m.: A caller asked to speak to a police officer because she said her landlord and first floor neighbor have entered her apartment. She requested extra patrols.

9:55 a.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and reported her car had been involved in a hit-and-run the previous night.

10:12 a.m.: A person walked in to police headquarters and said some items were taken from St. Mary's Cemetery.

11:15 a.m.: A Milford Regional Medical Center nurse asked police to check on the well being of a man who should be taking IV medications. Police responded to the home and found the man on the floor, unconscious. He was brought to the hospital.

11:40 a.m.: A caller on Water Street said his neighbor was making loud noises with his motorcycle. He asked to speak to an officer.

4:50 p.m.: A caller at McDonald's on Medway Road said her vehicle 'smells funny.' She said she had been threatened recently, and thought the vehicle might have been tampered with. Police checked and the vehicle was fine.

5:02 p.m.: A caller reported a STOP sign was down at Spruce and Congress streets. Police contacted Milford Highway Department.

5:24 p.m.: A woman told police she went to her daughter's house on Hayward Street and found her two grandchildren home alone. Police responded, and found the incident was an argument. The caller was removed from the home.

7:39 p.m.: A caller said a strange vehicle was in the parking lot at Milford Catholic Elementary School, and he saw two men climbing a nearby fence. Police responded.

9:07 p.m.: A caller said his wife pulled a knife on him because he didn't want to be with her any longer. He had locked himself in the bathroom. During the call to police, both the caller and his wife started arguing over the phone from different lines in the house. Police responded and took the woman to the hospital for an evaluation.

11:44 p.m.: A disturbance was reported at Milford Regional Medical Center, involving an unruly patient.

Thursday, Dec. 26

8:55 a.m.: A caller asked to speak to an officer about a dog exchange.

9:16 a.m.: A caller on Farese Road reported a woman's car was stuck in a brook.

11:05 a.m.: A caller said her roommate on Court Square spit on her.

1:29 p.m.: Police responded to Sovereign Bank, where a Dodge Durango had hit a white Buick. A caller said one of the men involved had become angry.

2:39 p.m.: A two-vehicle crash involving a town snow plow was reported on Beaver Street. According to a police report, a 26-year-old woman driving a Toyota was heading south on Beaver Street, and crossed into the northbound lane, striking a snow plow heading the opposite direction. The Toyota sustained heavy front-end damage. The woman and a passenger were taken to Milford Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The snow plow driver was not injured.

4:27 p.m.: A caller reported a car had struck a telephone pole on Otis at Chapin streets.

4:34 p.m.: A caller at Milford National Bank and Trust asked police to check on a man in a GMC SUV, who had appeared to be intoxicated.

4:39 p.m.: A caller at Manhattan's on Main Street reported someone had backed into her vehicle, and then left on foot, leaving their vehicle.

6:23 p.m.: A caller asked to speak to police about a past theft from her mother-in-law, who lives at Whitcomb House.

6:43 p.m.: A man on South Bow Street said he had had money stolen from his house.

Friday, Dec. 27

12:24 a.m.: A Dodge was repossessed on Ravenna Street.
