Police Log: Crash at Water and Prospect Streets, Neighborhood Conflict

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, Feb. 24

3:14 p.m.: A woman reported her debit card and cash had been stolen from her wallet while she was at Panera Bread.

3:54 p.m.: A woman reported her 15-year-old daughter was making threats to kill herself. The girl was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

8:45 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Central Street at Archer Avenue, police arrested Kwasi Bonsu, 22, of 92 S. Main St., Milford, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failure to stop or yield.

10:09 p.m.: Police received a report of an unwanted party on Fruit Street. But when officers arrived, they could find no one who made the call.

10:42 p.m.: Police returned to Fruit Street, where a woman had reported she was fighting with "the Americans," and they had told her they wanted to call Immigration authorities on her. Police checked the apartment for a second time, but again, could not find the woman who called. The woman called back, again saying she was at that Fruit Street address. Police attempted to trace her phone number, but could not.

Monday, Feb. 25

6:15 a.m.: The Milford Highway Department reported a motor vehicle into a tree on Beaver Street. No one was injured.

3:26 p.m.: A detective received a report from the state Department of Children and Families that a 11-year-old girl had been physically abused by her mother.

3:27 p.m.: Police and firefighters responded to Prospect Street at Water Street, for a two-car crash. Two people refused treatment at the scene, but another was taken to Miford Regional Medical Center.

3:56 p.m.: A woman reported her mother was geting several fishing calls from someone with heavy accent.

5:21 p.m.: Police received a report of suspicious activity at Hannaford Supermarket. A manager reported a tall man was trying to enter a vehicle. Police spoke to him, and he was trying to help the vehicle owner get into the vehicle.
