Police Log: Churches Draw a Rat Complaint

The following information was supplied by the Milford police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Police responded to several complaints Sunday into Monday, including a report that cars parked on West Fountain Street, for the high school's graduation, were making it hard for drivers to see coming out of Godfrey Lane.

Sunday, June 3

12:07 p.m.: A caller told police that two Brazilian churches on Main Street are "leaving their food out" and she is starting to notice rats. The woman said she contacted the but also wanted her complaint logged.

12:07 p.m.: A caller noticed two motorcycles going up and down Hamilton Street, Cedar Street and Main Street, and it had been going on for about an hour. Police were unable to locate the motorcyclists.

1:02 p.m.: A caller told police she hit a cat on Cedar Street, near She was unsure if it was alive. A call was left for the town's animal control officer.

1:19 p.m.: A caller complained that several vehicles were parked on both sides of West Fountain Street, making it difficult to get out of Godfrey Lane. A police officer checked and found it was OK.

1:26 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to report somone had stolen her GPS and the face of her radio overnight.

2:33 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported near. No injuries resulted.

2:44 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported on South Main Street, near. No injuries resulted.

3:56 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported on Freedom at West streets. No injuries were reported.

4:19 p.m.: A caller said his car was spray-painted sometime overnight, on Lavoie Avenue.

4:50 p.m.: A woman reported her 16-year-old daughter, who had been cutting herself, had left the home on foot. The daughter came back, and said she was fine and had no plans to hurt herself. Police concluded this was a verbal argument between mother and daughter.

10:15 p.m.: A caller on Taylor Street said a man who he did not know was banging on his door. The family received a restraining order.

Monday, June 4

12:05 a.m.: A caller reported he was having a verbal argument with his mother. Police filed a report.

8:12 a.m.: A caller reported an "older gentleman" had just backed into two cars at on Prospect Street. No injuries were reported.
