Police Log: Cars Stuck in the Storm, Stolen Snow Plow

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 16

7:08 p.m.: A caller reported roads were getting very slippery, that his car had slid out when exiting the BP station on Prospect Street. Milford Highway Department responded to sand the area.

9:25 p.m.: A caller on Congress Street said a neighbor was creating noise by jumping up and down.

11:49 p.m.: A caller at Milford Regional Medical Center said a man was taking suture materials, including needles, and putting them in his pockets. He was going into the X ray area. Officers responded.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

9:02 a.m.: A two-car crash was reported near Target. Police responded and were seeking a court summons to charge Edgar Gomez Hernandez Aron, 20, of 110 Calvin St., Central Falls, RI, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

9:42 a.m.: The theft of a trailer was reported at O'Donnell Electric on Sumner Street.

10:53 a.m.: Wires were reported to be down on Prentice Avenue and on the sidewalk. Police responded and determined they were cable lines. Verizon was notified.

12:29 p.m.: Police responded to Kmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Police arrested Kristy L. Giampietro, 35, of 56 Harvest RD., Apt. 1, Uxbridge, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, third offense.

2:20 p.m.: A caller on Hayward Street reported two children on motorized scooters were heading down Route 16 toward Route 109. The children were gone when police arrived.

5:16 p.m.: Loud music was reported on North Bow Street.

5:30 p.m.: A caller on Medway Road, near Kmart, reported a car was off to the side of the road.

5:59 p.m.: A caller on Dilla Street near Landscape Depot reported two disabled vehicles that were obstructing traffic. The vehicles were towed.

6:24 p.m.: A disabled vehicle was reported on Beaver Street, near Burger King.

6:37 p.m.: The Highway Department reported a car was stuck in the middle of Jionzo Road.

7:06 p.m.: A manager at the Comfort Inn said multiple tractor-trailer units were stuck on Fortune Boulevard. Police responded.

8:34 p.m.: A disabled motor vehicle was reported on Main Street.

8:38 p.m.: Milford Highway requested police to remove two vehicles on Mechanic Street. Police checked and the cars were OK.

8:53 p.m.: A caller on Prospect Street asked police to check on a woman walking in the storm. She was wearing a white jacket. Police checked and she was OK.

9:45 p.m.: A caller reported someone had plowed a large amount of snow into the roadway. The snow was causing an obstructive.

9:55 p.m.: Milford Highway requested police remove a vehicle on Grove Street. Police checked and the car had been moved.

9:56 p.m.: Milford Highway requested police check cars on Cemetery Street and request removals.

9:56 p.m.: Milford Highway requested removal of a vehicle on Poplar Street.

10:11 p.m.: An officer was on South Main and Grove streets with a vehicle that needed to be moved.

10:15 p.m.: A car on Walnut Street near Memorial School was towed.

10:27 p.m.: Milford Highway requested a car be removed on Lincoln at Pearl streets. An officer spoke to the owner, who said he was clearing his driveway and would be moving the car soon.

10:45 p.m.: A manager at Bed, Bath and Beyond said a small silver car was doing donuts in the parking lot.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

12:10 a.m.: A caller on Trinity Drive reported a VW Passat was stuck on the side of the road. Police responded and found the car was parked, and had been plowed in. The caller called back, and again requested assistance. His auto membership company said they couldn't find him anyone at this time. Police contacted Milford Highway, who agreed to come out to assist in getting the car out.

4:57 a.m.: A caller on Beaver Street reported his car had been broken into overnight. It was a black Ford F-150. He said the only thing taken was a few dollars.

5:31 a.m.: A caller on Mt. Pleasant Street reported a car break-in. Items were moved around in the car like someone was searching for something.

6:01 a.m.: A caller on Central Street reported someone broke into his car last night.

6:40 a.m.: A caller on Pleasant Street reported a theft from a motor vehicle.

7:52 a.m.: A caller on Medway Road at Dollar Tree said a vehicle had been rummaged through, and change was taken.

9:18 a.m.: A caller on East Main Street said his snow plow was stolen out of his driveway. The neighbor saw it being taken on Monday. The plow was driven away by a black Ford F-250 and the plow says "Fisher" on it.
