Police Log: Carbon Monoxide Detected at Doubletree in Milford

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Thursday, June 5

At 12:22 a.m., a Milford man, Ryan Gaffney, 23, of Milford, turned himself into the Milford Police Department on a warrant. 

At 12:16 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident in the area of South Main Street and Cape Road.

At 1:58 p.m., police and fire crews responded to the Doubletree Hotel on Beaver Street on a report of carbon monoxide detection. Fire crews on scene found the matter to be an issue with a heater that malfunctioned the day before. 

At 2:31 p.m., police received a report of an erratic driver on Medway Road. The vehicle in question was described as a small silver Ford.

At 3:31 p.m., police received a request from the principal of Stacy Middle School regarding a student who reported a man in a red sweatshirt was handing another man in a grey sweatshirt a switchblade. Officers spoke with the subjects in question and found the item was  regular pocket knife and not a switchblade. 

At 3:53 p.m., police responded to a report of an accident on Cape Road near Domino's. the accident involved a blue Hyundai Elantra. 

At 4:15 p.m., police responded to the area of Spring and North Bow streets on a report of a two-car accident. No injuries were reported. 

At 7:09 p.m., police received a report of one vehicle off the road on Joseph Road and a man left on foot up Sidney Road. A pole in the area was struck. No damage was reported to the pole, but a guardrail was damaged.
