Police Log: Car Strikes House on Chapin Street, Noise-Maker Given Warning

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

8:20 p.m.: A caller reported a black Jeep Cherokee had struck a deer outside her home on Central Street. Police filed a report.

8:42 p.m.: A caller told police loud music was coming from the corner of Mechanic and Sumner Street, out of a grey garage. It has been an ongoing issue. Police could not locate the noise.

9:15 p.m.: An officer was back on Mechanic Street, out with a loud music disturbance. An officer spoke to the man playing the music. He said he was not aware that the sound was carrying. He was told he would be summonsed to court if police received another complaint.

10:03 p.m.: A caller reported loud noises and doors slamming on Capitol Road.

Thursday, Sept. 5

8:58 a.m.: A man with dark shorts and shirt appeared to be looking into construction vehicles then going back and forth into the woods, a caller reported. This happened on Cedar Street. Police responded. The man was in a pickup that got stuck in the woods the previous night, and was trying to get it out.

10:32 a.m.: A woman reportedly fainted at Milford Town Hall and was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

10:47 a.m.: Police received a report of a restraining order violation. Police are seeking a summons to charge Christopher Donald, 25, of 10 Rosemary Dr., Randolph, with two counts of violating an abuse prevention order, two counts of stalking in violation of a restraining order, and intimidating a witness. 

11:09 a.m.: Three juveniles were at Kmart and caught by security for shoplifting. Parents were contacted and took custody of their children.

12:13 p.m.: A caller reported glass was smashed at a house on Redwood Drive. Police responded and reported that the Milford Housing Authority owned the building and would be responding to board up the windows and doors.

1:14 p.m: A crash involving several cars was reported on Chapin Street. An officer reported a car had struck a building. The building inspector and NStar both responded. Two vehicles were towed.

6:15 p.m.: A caller at Plains Park said someone was flying a remote-controlled air plane at the site, and he felt it was a safety issue.
