Police Log: Car Break-ins, Woman in Wheelchair Traveling in Road after Dark

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Oct. 28

8:03 p.m.: A woman said her husband pushed her and hit their 2-year-old in the head. Police responded and filed a report.

8:08 p.m.: A caller reported she could hear a man yelling at a woman and child at PiNZ. Then he took off in a car. The caller did not provide any more information.

Tuesday, Oct. 29

12:37 a.m.: A caller at Country Club Lane said it sounded like someone was trying to enter the house. The caller heard a slider door open. Police checked and everything was OK.

12:38 a.m.: A caller on Bandy Lane said his garage door had just opened, and no one should be near the house. Police responded and checked and everything was OK.

4:08 a.m.: A caller on Birmingham Court said a man dressed in black had just run by her window. Police checked and everything was secure.

6:37 a.m.: A caller reported a woman was going through trash cans on Claflin Street. Police responded and spoke to the woman.

8:20 a.m.: A caller on Paula Road said her car had been broken into overnight. Nothing was taken, however.

8:26 a.m.: A caller said a vehicle was broken into on Yale Drive and a laptop stolen. Police filed a report.

9:06 a.m.: A person walked in and reported a theft from his motor vehicle, on Taft Street.

10:10 a.m.: A caller said he was having his car fixed in Milford for the past two months. When he went to go pick it up this week, the shop owner said he could not find it. Police responded and determined this was a car that was towed from the shop by the owner.

10:55 a.m.: A caller at Milford High School asked for an ambulance for a teenaged boy who needed to be taken to Milford Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.

11:47 a.m.: A caller at Mobil on Route 109 asked for help from police. A customer asked for $40, but after the gas was pumped, said they only asked for $20.

2:07 p.m.: Upton Police asked police to help search for a Honda Civic. They were about to take the driver to the hospital for a mental evaluation when he got into the car and left, heading toward Milford. The only description they had was that he was 17.

2:29 p.m.: A caller at Doubletree by Hilton hotel reported a delivery truck had just hit a light post in the back. No one was injured.

4:44 p.m.: A caller on Lee Street said his 1997 Honda Accord had been broken into the previous night. Change was taken, but the vehicle not damaged.

5:38 p.m.: A caller reported a man was attempting to drill a lock on Colonial Road. Police responded. He was a contractor working for a bank, and they were winterizing the home.

5:42 p.m.: A caller reported someone was breaking into her house, on West Street. She received a call from a neighbor. Police found it was a person picking up some belongings that had been worked out in advance. The people were the woman's friends, and were taking a canoe.

6:10 p.m.: A caller asked police to remove her son from the house. He was gone when police arrived.

6:12 p.m.: A caller on Central Street said a woman in a motorized wheel chair was riding down the street with no lights. An ambulance driver gave her a ride home.

7:18 p.m.: A caller said a man was yelling at his daughter, then left with her and the mother in a car. A police officer pulled over the vehicle nearby and determined no assault had occurred. The daughter had thrown a temper tantrum.

8:33 p.m.: A woman said she thought she heard someone on the porch on Country Club Lane. Police checked and everything seemed fine.

Wednesday, Oct. 30

8:46 a.m.: A caller reported two coyotes were behind the house on West Fountain Street and it sounded like one was injured. A message was left for Milford Animal Control.

11:28 a.m.: A woman who lives on Fairfield Court said her neighbors were harassing her.

12:31 p.m.: Police issued a BOLO for a car with a possibly intoxicated driver on Fruit Street.

2:34 p.m.: A caller at La Quinta Inn said he thought that either his girlfriend or housekeeping had stolen all of his medications. Police filed a report.

4:23 p.m.: A man fell at McDonald's on South Main Street and had a bloodied nose. He refused transport to the hospital.
