Police Log: 'Abandoned Briefcase' Found to be Traffic Enforcement Device

Sunday, March 9

At 8:07 a.m., Milford Police received a report of a suspicious-looking man in the area of Milford High School on Fountain Street, described as wearing a white and red jacket, dark jeans and seen allegedly roaming around the parking lot. 

At 8:47 a.m., police received a noise complaint regarding home owners on Bow Street who were drilling and throwing items into a dumpster before 7 a.m., which the caller claimed was in violation of the town's bylaws. 

At 1:59 p.m., police received a report from an individual who claimed that her vehicle was struck while she was shopping at Shaw's on Prospect Street. 

At 5:17 p.m., police responded to the area of Purchase Street on a report of a what looked like an abandoned briefcase in the intersection of Dilla and Purchase streets. Upon arrival police determined the item was a traffic enforcement device.
