Milford Toddler Dies After Swallowing Screw

A 2-year-old was pronounced dead Thursday as a result of the incident; no foul play was suspected.

A Milford boy died Thursday after he swallowed a screw, Boston.com reported

The screw had reportedly come loose from a piece of furniture, and had obstructed the boy's airway, causing him to choke, according to the report. 

The 2-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the Milford Regional Medical Center, and Massachusetts State Police and Milford detectives determined that the screw became detached from a piece of furniture.

Authorities are not releasing the name of the boy or his family due to the medical nature of the incident, according to the report.
