The second delay of a trial for Nicolas Guaman, who is accused of hitting and killing a Milford motorcyclist with his truck in 2011, has sparked a contentious reaction amongst Milford residents.

Guaman, an Ecuadorian citizen who is reportedly in the U.S. illegally, is facing numerous charges in connection with the death of Milford's Matthew Denice in 2011

The bench trial for Guaman had originally ben set for April 3, but was rescheduled to Wednesday, May 8. A judge, however, determined that the trial would need to be delayed again until at least Monday, May 12, as the court sought an appropriate interpreter.

Dozens reacted to the news on Facebook and on Milford Patch, and the following comment was posted to Justice For Matt, a Facebook page set up in honor of Denice on Wednesday:

"I feel like I'm in the movie Ground Hog Day. Spent the entire day in court only to have the trial delayed again."

Milford Patch will provide updates on the trial as they become available.

So, this is yesterday's news. Yesterday there were a ton of comments - today, none. I've been pretty patient, giving the new Patch eidtor(s) the benefit of a doubt - I think it is time to find another news source. Truly i am not that interested in the comments - each of us has our own feelings towards this whole thing, first & foremost is the Denice family and what they must be going through still. But when you see a headline as n this, wouldn't you expect to see updated 'reactions'?

Well, I can summarize yesterday's comments. Several people expressed frustration with the repeated delays (3 years!) in this trial. The latest last minute delay regarding the interpreter is particularly inexcusable because it's something everyone knew about and then we get to trial and, boom, the interpreter doesn't speak the right dialect. Then a commenter who calls himself "Kalman Berke" called everyone a racist for no apparent reason, 'cuz that's just how he rolls. Several people then objected to Kalman's race-baiting and hatemongering. Kalman's response was that everyone is, like, stupid and he never called anyone a racist. Which caused me to question Kalman's sanity and express the hope that Kalman's apparent "situation" doesn't ever escalate to the point that he hurts someone.

mAgressor, your summary is right on. Alot of people are really, really angry about this Guaman issue. I know I am.

NEVER respond to Kalman Berke, its just a waste of time. He's attacked everyone who has ever posted on the patch. I dont care what race, creed or national origin is of this guy, he got drunk and killed an innocent young man and that is not in question. Now lets convict him and send him back to his country to serve out his sentence.
