Milford Police Investigate Drive-by Shooting

An unoccupied vehicle parked on Oliver Street, near Water Street, was shot multiple times late Tuesday.

Milford Police are investigating a drive-by shooting, in which two males were observed in a dark sedan shooting a vehicle on Oliver Street multiple times.

The men turned the corner on to Water Street, and sped off toward Prospect Street, police were told by witnesses.

No one was injured in the shooting, reported about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle that was damaged, a Nissan Maxima, had bullet holes in the rear. Responding officers found seven spent shell-casings on the ground, said Police Lt. James Falvey.

No motive has been determined, he said Wednesday.

Police detectives interviewed the male owner of the targeted vehicle, but he has told police he does not know why it happened, Falvey said.

State Police are assisting by processing the vehicle for evidence.

Hmmmmmmm, what's different in that area of town in, say, the last decade or so, I wonder. Lets check the past records pre 1995 as to how many murder/shootings were in Milford in the prior 60 years, it's like 4. I can't believe drug addicts and the entitlement generation are so disrespectful of the money we give them for just being alive, truly shocked. It's time for people to really look into who they vote for, regardless of skin color or whether there's a D, R, or I, next to the party affiliation.

Right .... let's all be worried about a long shot casino being built while every day our property values reach no lows because of crimes like this and the fact that 30% of our population is illegal.

This crime stuff in Milford is out of control. The police will likely never find the shooter or this will be another case turned over to another agency. We will never get answers just like with the guy that was murdered in his apartment a few months ago. Who would have thought murder and drive by shootings in Milford. So glad my kids are grown.

Don't forget the Gulf gas shootings on rt 85. That wasn't solved either.

Hi Live, no the comments weren't disabled. If you posted a comment and it didn't get through, let me know. We do have spam filters, but they usually don't catch comments sent to one site only. And Danu, Granite Gulf had an armed robbery, and shots were fired, but no one was shot.

Live, I just got a few emails from people saying their comments aren't appearing, or they can't see the comments on a story. It is a Patch issue and they're working on it. Thanks for letting me know there was a problem... hopefully will be fixed soon!
