Milford Police Investigate Drive-by Shooting

An unoccupied vehicle parked on Oliver Street, near Water Street, was shot multiple times late Tuesday.

Milford Police are investigating a drive-by shooting, in which two males were observed in a dark sedan shooting a vehicle on Oliver Street multiple times.

The men turned the corner on to Water Street, and sped off toward Prospect Street, police were told by witnesses.

No one was injured in the shooting, reported about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle that was damaged, a Nissan Maxima, had bullet holes in the rear. Responding officers found seven spent shell-casings on the ground, said Police Lt. James Falvey.

No motive has been determined, he said Wednesday.

Police detectives interviewed the male owner of the targeted vehicle, but he has told police he does not know why it happened, Falvey said.

State Police are assisting by processing the vehicle for evidence.
