Milford Police, Fire Crews Conduct Shooter Training at Memorial Elementary

Several officials were on hand at the school for the annual drill on Tuesday while students were on April Vacation break.

Milford police and fire crews, joined by Milford emergency medical service crews, conducted an annual "active shooter" training scenario on Tuesday at the Memorial Elementary School on West Walnut Street. 

The Milford Police Department released a photo gallery showcasing the training scenario, with first responders working together to remove an "injured person" from an "active shooter" as part of the drill. 

Milford Deputy Fire Chief Bill Touhey was on hand Tuesday, as well as SWAT Officer Scott Nelson, Milford Dispatcher Justin Kuras and firearms instructor Rob Pavia, according to the Milford Police Department

The school was closed Tuesday, as students are currently on April Vacation through the end of the week.
