Milford Man Shoots Friend by Accident While Cleaning Gun

The victim, a Bellingham man, was treated for non life threatening injuries.

A man from Milford accidentally shot his friend through the thigh while cleaning out a new .40-caliber pistol this week, WCVB reported.

The 21-year-old was reportedly unaware that a round had been in the chamber of the gun while he was cleaning it, and he subsequently shot his friend around 4:22 p.m. Wednesday, according to the report.

The victim, a 23-year-old man from Bellingham, was taken by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence for non-life threatening injuries, according to WCVB.
