Milford Man Arraigned on Drug Charges

A 34-year-old man was arrested by Milford Police Wednesday night on charges of possession with intention to distribute cocaine and marijuana.

A Milford man has been charged with possession and possession to distribute charges relating to cocaine and marijuana, according to documents in Milford District Court.

Milford Police announced the arrest of Freddie Hernandez, 34, of 6 Brag Slipp, Apt. 2, Milford, on Thursday morning. He is charged with possession of a Class B substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance and possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance. The possession with intent to distribute charges are both felonies.

According to documents submitted by police, Milford police detectives Carlos Sousa and Antonio Carneiro were undercover on Wednesday about 9:15 p.m. when they observed Hernandez walking up and down Jefferson Street, wearing a black ski mask and black gloves. He was walking to and from several homes in the area, according to the police document.

After police approached him and identified themselves, he was searched. Police report they recovered about 2 grams of cocaine, contained in two glassine baggies, from a pill container in his pocket, and about 7.4 grams of a substance thought to be marijuana, divided into three baggies.

Hernandez was released by District Judge David Locke following arraignment, and is scheduled to appear in court again for a pretrial conference on March 7.
