Milford Fire Department Gets New Firefighter

Milford's James Vignone was among 24 graduates last week.

Milford Fire Department recruit James P. Vignone joined the 203rd graduating class of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy's Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program last week.

According to State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan, the 45-day program is designed to provide new firefighters with basic skills to perform their jobs safely and effectively, providing training on topics ranging from environmental emergencies to elevator rescues to public education.

Vignone was among 24 graduates of the program.
