Men Held on $15-$20K Cash Bail on Robbery, Assault Charges

And a Milford District Court judge also revoked bail for one defendant on a prior charge.

Two men who police say robbed a Milford teen Sunday, then assaulted on Tuesday, were ordered held on cash bails of $15,000 and $20,000 Thursday at arraignment in Milford District Court.

District Judge Robert Calagione set the bail at $15,000 for Christopher Hernandez, 25, and at $20,000 for Darren Jones, 19. Both lived at 16 Jefferson St.

They are charged in the assault of a victim in a Main Street fight that played out in front of dozens of people in downtown Milford. And they also are charged with an armed robbery on Sunday that the victim reported following the fight.

Hernandez is charged with assault and battery, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace, as well as armed robbery and conspiracy, according to the court records.

Jones is charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace, as well as armed robbery and conspiracy.

Calagione also revoked bail for Jones on a prior charge. The cash bail, previously set at $500 cash, was for charges of assault and home invasion. They related to a May incident in which Jones and another teen were accused of forcing their way into a Lincoln Street home, assaulting an acquaintance and pushing his mother.

Both Jones and Hernandez are next scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 2 for a pretrial conference.
