A man in his 40s was flown by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Worcester, after his car struck a pole on Route 140, police said.
The man, who was not identified, was taken initially to Milford Regional Medical Center, where he was life-flighted to Worcester. His injuries were described as serious.
The crash was reported about 1:30 p.m., said Milford Police officer Brian Araujo. The car struck the pole, then came to a stop in brush off Cape Road.
By mid-afternoon, the crash was being investigated by the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, which investigates serious injury and fatality crashes in the area.
