Man Flown to Worcester Hospital with Serious Injury

A single-car crash on Route 140, near the intersection with South Main Street, has seriously injured the driver. He was flown by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Worcester.

A man in his 40s was flown by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Worcester, after his car struck a pole on Route 140, police said.

The man, who was not identified, was taken initially to Milford Regional Medical Center, where he was life-flighted to Worcester. His injuries were described as serious.

The crash was reported about 1:30 p.m., said Milford Police officer Brian Araujo. The car struck the pole, then came to a stop in brush off Cape Road.

By mid-afternoon, the crash was being investigated by the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, which investigates serious injury and fatality crashes in the area.
