Judge Says No to MassHealth Card as Evidence in Guaman Trial

The trial goes into its third day on Wednesday.

A Worcester Superior Court judge ruled against the use of Nicolas Guaman's MassHealth card as evidence during the second day of Guaman's trial on Tuesday after the defendant's attorney said the card would be prejudicial to his client, the Worcester Telegram and Gazette reported

Guaman, an Ecuadorian citizen who is reportedly in the U.S. illegally, is facing numerous charges in the death of Matthew Denice, a Framingham State University graduate and Milford resident, on Aug. 20, 2011 in Milford.

Guaman's trial officially began Monday after two delays in April and again last week. The bench trial is expected to last about five days.
