Readers' Choice for Florist: Francis Flowers

Francis Flowers, begun in 1949 as a family business, is the Readers' Choice Best of Patch selection for florists.

Milford Patch readers overwhelmingly chose this week as the best local place for floral arrangements.

The business on Prospect Street , by a then-19-year-old Francis Iacovelli. It has grown and endured and now has three generations of the family working at the shop.

The poll for drew 231 votes among Milford Patch readers by the 9 a.m. Friday deadline, and of these, Francis Flowers took 67 percent, or 156 votes.

collected 75 votes in the poll, for 32 percent of the vote.

Francis Flowers also garnered four positive reviews during the poll week, to one positive review posted on the Wild Side Florist business listing. This put Francis Flowers ahead with 20 points out of the 20 possible for Readers' Choice, according to the official rules.

Patrice Iacovelli, who manages the flower shop begun by her father, said she was delighted to learn that Francis Flowers was chosen by readers as Milford's best.

"We're delighted," she said. "We care a lot about our customers. We've been here so long, it's like friends and family."

In Hopkinton and Holliston, of Holliston as the best florist.
