Random Acts of Kindness

I am an adult volunteer at Daily Bread Food Pantry in downtown Milford. I was inspired by the generosity I witnessed on November 11, 2013 when 2 young GirlScouts, Gianna and Julia, of Milford Junior Girlscouts, stopped by the local pantry, along with their troop leader, to personally drop off food donations on behalf of troop 30402. They excitedly handed over their "birthday bags" of food that were collected as entry admission to the annual GirlScouts Halloween-Birthday Party/Food Drive, a tradition initially started by GirlScouts "Founder" Julia Lowe, and conducted annually by the GirlScouts throughout America in honor of Lowe's Birthday. It is refreshing and comforting to see compassion in the hearts of children in these turbulent times we live in, despite the disturbing stories we are inundated with in our daily dose of the news.
