On June 27th, the Milford Board of Selectmen and State Senator Richard Moore joined East Milford residents on a walking tour of key neighborhoods that will bear the brunt of the proposed Foxwoods casino project. This burden will be from construction through the operation of the casino for decades to come. Over 300 families will be negatively impacted by its presence. Anxiety was high among residents over potential property value losses and increased traffic in the area.
Only days after this video was made, due to environmental issues, the proposed casino site was moved to within 600 feet of the nearest homes. In addition, the subsequent Foxwoods informational meetings referenced in the video have thus far failed to provide the answers people are looking for.
