Obituary: Eliseo 'Allie' Marcone, 95, Avid Sailor, Retired Foreman at Kartiganer Hat Factory

Mr. Marcone was a longtime member of the Italian American Veterans Post in Milford.

Mr. Eliseo M. “Allie” Marcone, 95, of Milford, died early Monday morning (Jan. 20, 2014) at Genesis Healthcare of Milford, after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth E. (Williams) Marcone, who died in 2012. 
Mr. Marcone was born in Milford, the son of the late Guadenzio and the late Adelina (Sciullo) Marcone. He attended Milford public schools as a young boy. 
Mr. Marcone was employed for many years at the former Kartiganer Hat Factory, where he worked as a foreman. He was also a WW II US Navy veteran, having served in the European theatre. 
Mr. Marcone was a lifelong Milford resident and a longtime member of the Italian-American Veterans Post #40 of Milford. He was also a founding member of the Leisure Hour Club. He was an avid sailor as a younger man and was a past winner of the Cape Cod Canal Sailboat Race. 
Mr. Marcone is survived by his three children: Ruth P. Couture of Florida, James E. Marcone and his wife Judith of Mendon and Marilyn E. DeLuca of Milford; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers: Robert Marcone of Medway and Joseph Marcone of Hyannis; also several nieces and nephews.
