Obituary: David Cassinelli, 50, Leader of Friends of Milford Trail, Milford Scouts

Mr. Cassinelli was the leader of the Milford Scouts for 12 years.

David Cassinelli, the president of the Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail, and a longtime leader of the Milford Boy Scouts, died Saturday of a brain hemorrhage. He was 50, and the father of three sons.

Mr. Cassinelli was born in Waltham, and graduated from Marlboro High School, and Bridgewater State College, according to an obituary published Monday by Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.

He was the president of the Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail, a volunteer organization that works with the Milford Parks Department to maintain and enhance the walking and biking trail that runs through Milford, connecting from Hopkinton to Holliston. For 12 years, he led the Milford Scouts.

"David lived the precept of service to others and continually gave to his community through his many acts of kindness and volunteerism," the obituary states. "He was a member of the Montgomery Masonic Lodge-Milford and the President of the Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail. In death, as in life, David continues to give. He is an organ donor."

A memorial service for family and friends that honors Mr. Cassinelli's life will be announced, the funeral home said.
