Obituaries: Theresa Visconti, Joseph Renda Jr., Barbara Foley, Rita Kurlan, Eleanor Richards

Theresa M. Visconti, 99, passed away on Jan. 9, 2014 at Countryside Health Care in Milford. She was a life long resident of Milford where she attended public schools. She began her career as a legal secretary followed by many years as a secretary in several departments in the Milford School System. She was predeceased by her husband Atty. Michael P. Visconti who passed away in 1994. 

Mr. Joseph J. Renda Jr., 97, of Hopedale, and formerly of Milford, died Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2014) at Milford Regional Medical Center shortly after admittance. He was the beloved husband of the late Antonina M. “Nellie” (Longo) Renda, who died in 2003. 
Mr. Renda was born in Milford, the son of the late Joseph and the late Margaret (McNamara) Renda. He attended Milford public schools as a young boy and attended Milford High School. Mr. Renda was first employed for the Town of Milford DPW and then later was employed for over 36 years at the former Draper Corporation located in Hopedale.

Barbara J. (Ridolfi) Foley, 72, of Milford passed away on Sun. Jan. 5, 2014 in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Worcester. She was the wife of John W. Foley Jr. Mrs. Foley had been employed as a supervisor at PEI in Milford before retiring in 2002.
Barbara was born July 26, 1941 in Framingham the daughter of the late William and Barbara J. (McCarthy) Ridolfi. She was a lifelong resident of Milford and a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1959. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed visiting Cape Cod. She loved all animals, especially her cats. 

Rita V. (Bouthiette) Kurlan, 89, of Milford passed away on Wed. Jan. 1, 2014 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Samuel Kurlan. Mrs. Kurlan was employed as a stretcher for the former Kartiganer Hat Co. in Upton before she retired. 
Mrs. Kurlan was born Sept. 1, 1924 in Upton the daughter of the late Alcide and Adile (Paille) Bouthiette and had attended Upton schools.

Eleanor L. (Cipriani) Richards, 87, of Marion, formerly of Milford, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2014, at the Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of Albert W. Richards of 61 years. She was born in Milford, daughter of the late Alfred and Lucy (DeVenuto) Cipriani and lived in Milford and Hopedale before moving to Marion in 1989. 
She was a graduate of the Milford High School class of 1944. She also was a graduate of the Milford Hospital Nursing program in 1948. Mrs. Richards retired in 1987 from the Medfield State Hospital where she was employed as an admissions nurse. She also was employed at numerous hospitals in the Boston area.
