Obituaries: Rose M. Hickmott, Charles Piscia, Donald R. Fafard

The following residents, or former residents, of Milford have died in recent days.

Rose M. (Comastra) Hickmott, 95, of Mendon, died Oct. 2 in the Cape Regency Healthcare Facility in Centerville. She was the wife of the late Richard Hickmott who died in 1985. She was born in Milford daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Monaco) Comastra and lived in Mendon and Bellingham for many years before moving to Pocasset in 2010. She was educated in the Milford schools. Mrs. Hickmott was employed for the former Lish Hat Factory in Framingham and the former Milford Shoe Company.

Mr. Charles L. Piscia, 85, of Milford, died Oct. 14 at the Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. He was the husband of the late Doreen (Scott) Piscia. Mr. Piscia was the son of the late Luigi and the late Mary (Beltramini) Piscia, also of Milford. He graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1945. He was a Boy’s State representative and class treasurer. 
After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and then attended Merrimack College in Andover, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Economics. He also attended Boston College for his Master’s Degree in Business. Mr. Piscia was employed for over thirty years by the Gillette Corporation as a director of marketing research. 

Mr. Donald R. Fafard, 84, of Hopedale, died Oct. 12 at the Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Hixon) Fafard. Mr. Fafard was born in Milford, the son of the late Horace Fafard and the son of Rose (Romiglio) Fafard of Westborough. He attended Milford public schools as a young boy and was a graduate of Hopedale High School, Class of 1948. He was also a Korean Conflict veteran, having served in the US Army. Mr. Fafard had been employed for over forty years at the Rosenfeld Concrete Company, retiring as maintenance supervisor.
