Obituaries: Lucille Criasia, Cynthia Cecchi, Richard Kingsbury, Walter Persson

Milford has lost longtime residents, including a Memorial Elementary School teacher.

Lucille J. (Pandozzi) Criasia, 65, died Saturday, Dec. 29. Born in Milford, she was a lifelong resident. She was educated in Milford schools, and worked at the former Bickford Shoe Company. She is survived by two children and two grandchildren. Her funeral services were handled by Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, and took place on Monday.

Cynthia A. Cecchi, 58, died Dec. 29. She was born in Framingham, but was raised in Milford and lived in town for the rest of her life. She graduated Milford High, Class of 1972, and earned a degree in special education from Worcester State College. At the time of her death, she was a special education teacher at Memorial Elementary School.

Her funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Richard A. Kingsbury Sr., 87, of Milford, died Dec. 26. Born in Holliston, he had been a resident of Milford for 61 years. He was a Coast Guard veteran of WWII, and worked as a truck driver for Rosenfeld Concrete for 38 years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the American Legion in Milford. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Theresa (Tess), and a daughter, Patricia of Milford. He was predeceased by a son, Richard A. Kingsbury Jr.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, prior to the funeral service.

Walter W. Persson, 67, died Monday, Dec. 24. Born in New Haven, CT, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Diane, three stepsons, John A. Phelps of Milford, John Brunetti and Joseph Brunetti both of Douglas, a stepdaughter Deanna Brunetti of Sutton, and five step-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Grace Exchange Church. There will not be any public visiting hours. Arrangements are being handled by Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home.
