Obituaries: Jose Esteves, Henry Dulude, Jr., Karen Roche, Richard Mabie

Milford has lost four residents, including three people in their 40s.

Jose L. Esteves, 48, of Milford, died Friday, Dec. 7. Born in Arcos, Montelegre, Portugal, he moved to Milford in 1987. He was an engineer at Bose in Framingham for 25 years.

He is survived by three brothers: Domingos Esteves, Jose M. Esteves and Luis F. Esteves, all of Milford; two sisters, Judite Goncalves of Milford and Teresa Esteves of Mendon, as well as many nieces and nephews. His funeral service was held Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, and the burial will take place at a later date. His arrangements were handled by Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home.

Henry Dulude, Jr., 77 died Dec. 6. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After his service, he located to Milford, where he worked at the Stylon Corp. At the time of his retirement in 2000, he was employed by EMC. A semi-pro hockey player as a young man, he coached Milford Youth Hockey.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley, three children, including daughter Denise Consigli of Milford, and three grandchildren. His private funeral service took place on Tuesday, and there were no funeral home visiting hours.

Karen Elizabeth Roche, 40, has died. She is survived by her parents, Geraldine A. Roche and Thomas J. Roche of South Yarmouth, a brother Thomas J. Roche Jr. of Mendon, a sister Debora A. Covino of Hopedale, and her maternal grandmother, Margaret Graves of Milford. A private memorial service was held at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.

Richard Mabie, Jr., 49, died Monday, Dec. 10. Born in Framingham, he was raised in Milford, graduating from Milford High School with the Class of 1981. He was operations manager at Ross Express Co. for many years, and also worked at Jean’s Catering and at Tina Marie’s Catering. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tina Marie, six children and seven grandchildren, as well as his father, Richard J. Mabie Sr. and his wife, Marilyn, of Ashland; and his mother Joyce Mabie, wife of Sal Taralli of Milford. 

His funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Faith Baptist Church in Mendon. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours at Edwards Funeral Home will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
