Obituaries: George Charest, Louis Trevani, Congetta DePaolo, Marjorie Bonina, Lorraine Howley

The following residents or former residents of Milford have died in recent days.

George R. Charest, 81, of Milford, passed away on Friday, Sept. 6.  His wife of 54 years, Edna (Tomasini) Charest, was by his side. Mr. Charest resided for many years on Naples Street in Milford while raising his family and working as an accountant for Framingham Union Hospital. Mr. Charest was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was the last of eight children of Albert and Leah Charest. He is predeceased by his brothers Alfonse, Leo, Robert, and Paul Charest. 

Louis J. “Gigi” Trevani, 85, of Hopedale, passed away Friday, Sept. 6 in Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Rosemarie (Leahy) Trevani. He was born in Hopedale, the son of the late Celso and Julia (Beschi) Trevani. 
Mr. Trevani was a graduate of Milford High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree and his Master’s Degree from Boston University. He was a World War II Navy Veteran who served in the Pacific Theater and received the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and China Service Medal. He was employed as a teacher at Framingham South High School where he was a dedicated and proud educator.

Congetta M. (Caccavelli) DePaolo, 87, of Milford, died Sept. 3 in the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough. She was the wife of Michael J. DePaolo of 66 years. She was born in Milford, daughter of the late Frank and Congetta (Paride) Caccavelli and was a lifelong Milford resident. She was a graduate of the Milford High School class of 1941.
Mrs. DePaolo retired in 1988 from the former General Electric Company in Ashland where she was employed as an assembler. 

Marjorie F. (Miller) Bonina, 76, of Milford, died Sep. 2 in the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Gaetano D. Bonina Jr. She was born in Westborough, daughter of the late Charles and Anne (Bulber) Miller and lived in Framingham before moving to Milford in 1958. She was a graduate of the Framingham High School class of 1954.  
Mrs. Bonina was employed for many years at the former Lish Hat Shop in Upton where she was employed as a packer.  
     
Lorraine C. (Rufo) Howley, 76, of Milford, passed away Fri. Aug. 30, in the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of George F. Howley. 
She was born Sept. 4, 1936 in Brighton the daughter of the late Daniel and Florence (Tocci) Rufo. Mr. and Mrs. Howley observed their 57th anniversary on Aug. 19th. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
