Rachel Anne MacKenzie on Milford Performs
Vocalist, musician, director, and actress Rachel Anne MacKenzie appears on the latest edition of Milford Performs.  I have known Rachel since she was in grade school because her late father Edmund MacKenzie was a great Cub Scout Packmaster who helped inspire my son Cameron to stay in Scouting.  Our whole family has watched as Rachel played bass in the Milford High orchestra, appeared as Reverend Mother in MPAC's 2006 production of The Sound of Music, in the title role of Aida at Milford High School a few years later. and most recently in Enter Stage Left's production of Godspell.  Next month we are going to see Rachel as Tracy Turnblad in the Stadium Theater's production of Hairspray.   Can. not. wait!

Known for her unique soulful sound, Rachel enjoys singing everything from blues and swing to opera and today's pop chart-toppers.  Rachel is also a music director, accompanist, and teacher.  Last year Rachel was the music director for MPAC's production of Into the Woods, of which both Mikayla's sister Mackenzie and I were pleased to be parts of the production. Currently she works with vocal groups in the Milford School System.  In April she will be the music director of Enter Stage Left's production of the Stephen Schwarz Scrapbook.

Rachel may be Wicked busy (check out her schedule), but she took time to come sing on Milford Performs.  Enjoy her performance on Comcast Ch. 8 and Verizon Ch. 38 this weekend (click here for schedule) and on YouTube.
Thanx for watching!
