About three and one-half years ago the Willowbrook Restaurant in Mendon started having a jam session for bluegrass musicians one Thursday night a month. A year later Sharon the restaurant's proprietor asked jam regular Phil Roettjer if he could put together a group to play one Saturday night a month. Phil made a few calls and soon Massachusetts had a new county - Mendon County, with Phil on banjo, Richie Chaisson on dobro, Mike Rubino on guitar and fiddle, Charlie Angel on guitar, and Ed Boguszo on bass.
