Garbage and recycling in Milford will be collected a day late due to the holiday. If Wednesday is your trash day, take it out on Thursday instead. If Thursday is your day, take it out on Friday, and so on. Saturday will be the catch-up day, for people who normally take it out Friday.

Government offices are closed, including the Milford District Court building and Milford Town Hall.

Supermarkets are open, including Shaw's, the Milford Hannaford and Stop & Shop. Hannaford will open at the regular time, at 7 a.m., but will close at 8 p.m. instead of 10.

Liquor stores are open, including JP Liquors, which will be open its regular hours.

Restaurants are open, including Caffe Sorrento, Turtle Tavern, Prezo Grille and Bar, and Panera Bread.

Some specialty markets are closed, including Oliva's. Purchase Street Market will open at the regular time, but will close early, at 8 p.m. Gene's Variety will open as usual, and closes at 4 p.m.

PiNZ will be open 10 a.m. to midnight, and has laser tag and bowling specials.
