Milford 2013 Thanksgiving Guide

Everything you need to know for the upcoming holiday.

Check out our list of Thanksgiving articles to help you prepare for the holiday:

When and where does the Milford High School football team play the traditional Thanksgiving game this year? Well, we're in luck because it's at home, against Holy Name High School.

What are you thankful for this year? We spent a little bit of time at Milford Catholic Elementary School on Tuesday, asking students and teachers that question.

If you need some items on the Thanksgiving shopping list, today is the day to get it done. (My to-do list includes apples and butter for a pie). Thursday is a federal holiday, and under state law, retail stores are required to be closed. What else is open and closed? Look here.

Interested in a fresh turkey, as opposed to a frozen one? Here are some options.

Milford's Salvation Army does not host a Thanksgiving dinner, but it distributed more than 200 frozen turkeys and meal boxes, enough to feed a family for three meals or more, on Friday. See some of the photos of the distribution, and the volunteers, here.

An unusual timing of events this year results in what some are calling Thanksgivukkah. Thanksgiving falls on the first day of Hanukkah.

What does the traffic forecast look like? Looks like Wednesday and Sundays will be the most clogged.

And if you leave Wednesday, will you be hitting bad weather? Chances are very high of that, although it should be dry and clear by Thursday.
