Teacher Raising Funds for Sierra Leone Assignment

A new college graduate asks for public help in covering her expenses while in Africa.

A recent college graduate from Upton is asking for contributions to help fund her commitment to teaching in Sierra Leone for the next six months.

In the GoFundMe appeal, Nikki Perregaux explains that she will be teaching elementary age children in Sierra Leone, a county in Africa that is among the world's poorest.

Her goal is to raise $2,000 to cover her expenses during the volunteer teaching job. She has raised about $260 in the past two days.
