Relocated to a New Apartment, Fire Victims Need Furniture Donations

The family displaced by a Dec. 8 fire on East Main Street moved over the weekend to an apartment in Milford.

A family of five whose home burned earlier this month on East Main Street relocated over the weekend to an apartment in Milford, to allow their three children to continue to attend local schools.

The family has received assistance through the American Red Cross and individual donors, who dropped off gift cards and presents for the children at TD's Pub this month.

But the family needs basic furniture and household items, according to friend Amy Kurzontkowski, ranging from appliances to side tables and a couch. The family does have a crib for their toddler daughter, donated by a friend.

The cause of the Dec. 8 fire was determined to be electrical by the state Fire Marshal's office and the Milford Fire Department. It displaced the family, which has three daughters, ages 2, 6 and 7, as well as a single man who rented an apartment in the structure.

Please contact Kurzontkowski for more information on the family's individual needs and how to arrange a drop-off or pick-up. She can be reached at amyk121780@yahoo.com
