Milford Girl Scouts Donate Stuffed Animals to Help Children in Need

The toys will be given to children during traumatic or stressful situations.

The Milford Police Department this week received a helping hand for those in need by a group of dedicated girl scouts.

On Monday, April 28, Girl Scout Brownies from Milford Troop 30570 donated 25 stuffed animals to the Milford Police Department, which plans to provide the toys to children during traumatic or stressful situations, Milford Police said in a statement this week.

The scouts also attached personal notes to the stuffed animals, according to police.

"What a kind gesture," Milford Police Chief Tom O'Loughlin said in statement. "These young girls spent all of the money that they raised selling Girl Scout cookies to help other children."

Additionally, after hearing about the donation, scouts in Daisy Girl Scout Troop 30590 and Junior Girl Scout Troop 35840 also made donations, according to police.
