Former Boston Celtic Chris Herren Speaks at Milford High School

Milford Public Schools will host an informational evening with former Boston Celtic Chris Herren, a Fall River, MA native, who realized his lifelong dream of playing for the Boston Celtics only to lose it all to alcohol and drug addiction.

Sober since 2008, Herren has chosen to share his life experiences with addiction to create an inspiring, educational evening for parents and teens on the dangers of drug and alcohol use. The entire Milford community is invited to attend the free presentation scheduled to take place at Milford High School on Tuesday, September 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The event, "Hoop Dreams," will feature Herren's personal and sometimes graphic description of his downward spiral into drug and alcohol addiction. It is most appropriate for families of students who are in 8th grade and older. It begins with a short DVD and then Herren will take the audience on his journey from addiction to sobriety.
