Reminder: Milford Casino Vote is Nov. 19, NOT Tuesday

About a dozen people have called the Milford Town Clerk's office Monday, asking about the casino referendum. It isn't until Nov. 19. Tuesday is the vote for Boston and Palmer.

At least some people are confused about the casino referendum date in Milford and are calling the Milford Town Clerk's office to ask about Tuesday's vote.

There is no election in Milford Tuesday. The Foxwoods Massachusetts vote is not until Nov. 19.

Tuesday, Nov. 5 is the referendum date for two other casino proposals in Massachusetts: Suffolk Downs in East Boston and the Mohegan Sun Massachusetts vote in Palmer.

Milford Town Clerk Amy Hennessy Neves said she'd received about 10 calls in the first few hours of opening Monday. The callers she said indicated they'd received a mailing reminding them of a Nov. 5 vote.

A spokesman for Foxwoods Massachusetts said the casino developer did not send the mailing.

It could be that people are confused because of the press coverage of the Tuesday vote in Boston. Regardless, hang on Milford, your vote is Nov. 19.
