Deadline Wednesday to Register for Milford Casino Referendum

The Town Clerk's office will be open until 8 p.m.

Editor's Note: This is the final day for eligible people to register in Milford to vote in the casino referendum. If you are not already a registered voter, you have until 8 p.m. Wednesday to register for the special election, which will determine if the Foxwoods Massachusetts casino application advances to state review. The Milford Town Clerk's office released the following on Tuesday:

This is a reminder that the deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 19th Special Election, is WEDNESDAY, Oct. 30th.

The Town Clerk’s Office will be open until 8pm.

**You can only participate in the Nov. 19th Special Election if you are a registered voter in the Town of Milford**

You can register if:

·         You are a United States CITIZEN

·         A resident of Milford

·         You will be 18 yrs of age or older (on or before Nov. 19th).

Also, absentee ballots are available to those voters  who will be unable to vote at the polls on Nov. 19th due to:

·         Being absent from Milford during normal polling hours (7am-8pm)

·         A physical disability preventing you from going to the polling location

·         Religious beliefs

*You are required to complete an application before receiving an Absentee Ballot. Absentee Ballot Application deadline is noon on 11/18/13.  If you need a ballot mailed to you, you would need to apply before the deadline to allow for mail delivery.  

Forms to register to vote and also apply for an absentee are in the Office of the Town Clerk or can be obtained on the Town’s website (under the Town Clerk’s Department)
