Wind Chill Advisory Issued for Milford, Surrounding Area

Brrrr! Milford is cold today, but will be under a Wind Chill Advisory from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Dangerously cold wind chill temperatures are expected overnight Tuesday. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory from 10 p.m Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday.

During the day Tuesday, temperatures are expected to peak at 27 degrees. That expected high will drop to 18 degrees Wednesday, and 17 degrees Thursday, according to the local forecast.

Wind chill readings overnight Tuesday in Milford will be as low as 20 degrees below freezing. The coldest temperatures are expected after midnight, and will continue until mid-morning Wednesday, according to the weather service advisory.

A wind chill advisory is issued when the wind chilll index is expected to range between -15 to -24 degrees for at least three hours, according to the advisory. Frostbite in these conditions can develop is as little as 30 minutes. If you are heading outdoors, dress in layers and wear gloves and a hat.
