Naughty Bingo and Ballroom Dancing

It's Thursday, time to decide what you'll do for the weekend.

We’ve got some ideas for your done-work-outta-here time for the weekend of March 18 - 20. Check out our picks.

1.

Where/When: , 30 Sherwood Ave., Shrewsbury. Saturday, 9 a.m.

Why Go: This race is being held in memory of Michael McCaffrey, a husband and father, who lost a battle against bladder cancer. All proceeds go directly to fund research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest men/women overall. Additional prizes for categories such as “Newbie” will also be awarded. 

Pricing: Entry fee of $18 for participants who pre-register online; $20 for participants who register the day of event.

Where/When: Marlborough Fish and Game, 1 Muddy Lane, Marlborough. Saturday, 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: Like traditional bingo, but with dirty jokes, adult-themed prizes, and a cash bar. This fundraiser benefits breast cancer research through Athena's Cup. This is a co-ed event for adults 18 years and older. 

Pricing: Two cards cost $20 for all games; three cards cost $30 for all games. To reserve a table, e-mail AthenasByJenFinn@hotmail.com.

Where/When: , 90 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton. Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Canadian singer/songwriter David Francey performs this concert, which is a benefit to help support Hopkinton High School Drama Ensemble's participation in the Scotland Fringe Festival this summer.

Pricing: $20.

Where/When: Medway VFW, 123 Holliston St., Medway. Friday, 7:15 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why Go: An evening of Ballroom dancing with The Boots Russo Band, refreshments, and cash bar. The dance starts at 8 p.m., but come early to learn the Tango.

Pricing: $12.

5.

Where/When: , 547 Washington St., Holliston. Sunday, 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: This presentation is being held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the War Between the States. Civil War items will also be on display. The program will include songs that are presented a cappella or accompanied on guitar or five-string banjo. 

Pricing: Admission is free; refreshments will be served.
