Blizzard Forecast for Milford

The area could see nearly two feet of snow.

New England is bracing for a blizzard this weekend. The Milford area could see some 2 feet of snow, the largest snow accumulation since 2010.

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for most of eastern Massachusetts including Milford, calling it a "potential historic winter storm."

We could see snow falling at 3-to-4 inches per hour and wind gusts of more than 20 miles per hour.

The storm is expected to make travel difficult by 2 p.m. Friday, although earlier in the day it should be just flurries and light snowfall, according to WHDH-TV meteorologist Pete Bouchard.

“I think it's time to prepare for the biggest storm since December 26th and 27th of 2010,” Bouchard writes in his latest blog post. “For the snow hounds, your ship might have finally come in.”
