5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 1

The Milford Boys Volleyball team continues its bid for the Central District championship tonight, in a home game against Xaverian. Come out and support this undefeated team.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Milford High School on Sunday, and so far, it looks like the weather could be sunny, but showers are in the forecast, too. The graduation will take place on the new athletic field if the weather holds. A decision will be made that morning.

2. continues its effort for the Central District championship tonight, at 7, in semi-finals against Xaverian Brothers. The game is at in the gymnasium.

3. The Milford Humane Society will hold its Stride for Strays at noon on Sunday. The two-mile walk will raise funds for the shelter, which receives no local, state or federal assistance. People are welcome to walk with their dogs, but the dogs must be leashed.

4. in the upcoming Milford Youth Center summer camp. Applications need to be turned in by June 1.

5. The Milford Fire Department will hold its at 8:15 a.m. Sunday. The program will include current and former firefighters and will be dedicated to the late Fire Chief John DePaolo.
