5 Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 13

Parents of children entering Kindergarten next year are encouraged to attend an information session Wednesday.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Do you have a child entering kindergarten next fall? Pre-registration and an information session is at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Milford High School. This is for parents only, and child care will not be provided.

2. Beginning today, the Milford Youth Center will be open from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays for people who want to walk indoors, in its gymnasium. Heavy snowfall and ice have covered many outdoor routes, including the Milford Upper Charles Trail. The center may be opened on more days in the future, said assistant director Jen Ward.
